O Known as the district of adventure due to the rapids of the 'Rio de Contas' River and known to be one of the best rivers in Brazil for rafting. The level of the rafting ranges from 2 to 4 (average would be level 3) depending on the water level at the time. It's no problem if you've never done rafting before. Our professional instructors will be there to give you all the information you need and ensure that you get the most out of your time rafting, with plenty of adventure – if that’s what you're after! No matter what time of year it is you'll be guaranteed adrenaline rushes!

The course down-river takes about 2 hours all in all. You'll be navigating down 3 kilometres of rapids. Half-way along the course you'll be offered to take part in an optional 7m rock jump into the river below (only for the brave ones!) and then at the end of the rafting course you'll be taken to a zip-line tirolesa which is 180 metres high. This tirolesa will wizz you down to the river's edge. It’s great fun!

Taboquinhas is also an excellent place to try some good, typical Bahian dishes, such as prawn moqueca (with dende palm oil), and many others…
